Hi fellow bloggers! I've been out of the blogging loop for a while and it feels great to be back!! It has been a challenging summer for families here in our hometown of Aurora, Colorado. I am amazed at what a supportive and strong community that we have here, a community of families who come together in these times to care for one another. As we enter a new school year, running around preparing for our incoming darlings, going from store to store, spending hours decorating our rooms, and on the computer planning.... I want to remember to live in the moment this school year. To be fully present at school and at home...and in times of stress remember.... this too shall pass and great things will emerge!!
Now that I have "gotten philosophical"...I am so excited to bring my room together I will be posting pics next week of my classroom, because I don't know about you but I LOVE to see other teacher's classrooms and get ideas for organization, layouts, environmental print etc...so leave me a comment with your blog pics too! I would love to check them out!!!:)
Hi all! After a full weekend of re-mulching our ENTIRE yard and shovel tons upon tons of rock my back is killing me, its time to seek respite in some blogging and classroom creations:)!! Hence my color word poster set was born!
Check out my new Brown Bear Color Words Poster set on TpT. I was so tired of my store bought color posters/bulletin board sets I have used through the years, so I decided to create these little posters to put up in my calendar area in my classroom. The polka dots go along with many of your polka dot classroom theme, and I love that it is literature based and can be tied in so easily! I will laminate these and use them for sequencing activities and thinking maps at the beginning of the year when we discuss our color words to start off our kindie year! I am also putting together number/quantity posters to match!!! How do you introduce color words to your kiddos at the beginning of the year??? Leave me a comment and let us know!:)
I am off to swim team practice with my little darlings!! It's Tuesday right....I lose track of the days, summer break is the best!!
My friend Kristin over @ Little Miss Glamour Goes to Kindergarten has a great new giveaway!! But head over there quick..it's over tonight 10 PM Eastern!!!

The new set is SKIPPY JON JONES!!!! I think I will need to make a TpT unit for these sets because they are just too cute! They are adorbs, literacy-based, and for $5 a piece you can't beat it. Kohls Care donates back to non-profits too which is always terrific. They have a bunch of different characters, but here is the link to Skippy Jon Jones...my students LOVE SJJ!!!
